About the position
Phd- Student - Optical investigation of hybrid ferromagnetic / semiconducting 2D-heterostructures
The PDI is at the forefront of growth of magnetic layered materials. PDI's spectroscopy department is expanding its efforts in the investigation of novel 2D heterostructures based upon these ferromagnets. Therefore, the PDI offers a PhD position to strengthen the research towards 2D hybrid materials.
The PhD-student will focus on optical spectroscopy experiments to investigate novel 2D heterostructures composing ferromagnetic (FM) and semiconducting (SC) materials with special focus on the interlayer twist. They will strongly collaborate with colleagues at PDI and within the FVB, to partake in the design and fabrication of samples, as well as to gain insights from complementary methods.
The candidate will be involved in the young, quickly developing research group.
